Service Description

What is Fitness Testing? Fitness testing is a vital tool for those who are looking to improve their health and fitness. One of the most important tests is VO2Max, a measurement of how much oxygen your body can utilise during exercise, VO2Max is the gold standard measurement of health and fitness and directly linked to mortality and Cardiometabolic disease. Performed on a treadmill, rower or stationary bike, and involves gradually increasing the intensity of the work until you reach your max level. Your heart rate and oxygen consumption are measured and used to calculate your VO2Max score. This number is used to track your progress over time and see how your health and fitness has improved. In addition, it is also used as a predictor of performance potential and to set realistic fitness goals. Who is it for ? Athletes - A VO2Max test can help sportspersons maximise their training. Improving efficiency of training sessions and goals. For those who just want to get fitter - a VO2Max test can target your training around your physiology. Make your workouts more effective and efficient, so you get results more quickly. Fuel your training - See how many carbohydrates you are burning, maximise training and weight loss with correct fueling. Not just for athletes - If your goal is weight loss, understand at what intensities you burn the most amount of kcals. Physiological Profiling Using VO2Max testing and lactate profiling it enables us to analyse your physiology through the data collected to provide you with the most accurate training and nutrition recommendations completely bespoke to your individual requirements with medical accuracy, pinpointing your training zones (how hard to push) and highlight how to fuel your sessions and any races. Following Your Test We can then take all of this data and provide you with a full training report. This includes: Your VO2Max score Your training zones in heart rate (HR), power or speed Your carbohydrate and fat burn at given intensities Your Aerobic and Anaerobic thresholds A full debrief session going over your results and how you can improve.
